    Conversion Formulas

    mg → ml
Volume (ml) = Mass (mg) ÷ Concentration (mg/ml)
    ml → mg
Mass (mg) = Volume (ml) × Concentration (mg/ml)
    mcg → ml
Volume (ml) = Dose (mcg) ÷ Concentration (mcg/ml)
    ml → mcg
Mass (mcg) = Volume (ml) × Concentration (mcg/ml)

    Frequently Asked Questions

No. Milligrams (mg) measure mass while milliliters (ml) measure volume. For pure water, 1 ml ≈ 1,000 mg, but peptide solutions have different concentrations so you always need to know the concentration to convert between them.
Concentration is set when you reconstitute the vial. Use the formula: (Vial mg × 1000) ÷ BAC Water (ml) = mcg/ml. Or use our Reconstitution Calculator which does it automatically.
On a U-100 insulin syringe: ml = IU ÷ 100. Examples: 10 IU = 0.10 ml, 20 IU = 0.20 ml, 50 IU = 0.50 ml. Our Dosage Calculator gives results in both IU and ml automatically.
